The long and winding codes
I was supposed to post this a looong time ago but wasn’t able to do so..but hey, it’s better late than never..hehe..
As the start of the second semester of school year ’06-07, I was really expecting that there would be a lot of things to do – in school, at home and in my life. But I wasn’t expecting this big. I mean, I wasn’t able to do the things that I used to do. Such as reading a book, well, yeah I’m reading but not the book I used to read. The whole semester, I was reading the book of Visual Basic 6.0 and many other books pertaining to programming. I was not able to watch movies as well or even draw. And even the website I promised to develop for my best friend. Naks! (tol, soon. I’m going to start doing what I promised. Wala kasi internet sa house. Pag meron na ha..) I wasn’t able to get enough sleep as well..why? secret!=p
My subjects last second semester were all about developing this and that. Waaah! If you can only understand what I was talking about..=’( I have Advadb (Advance Database Systems) and SoftEng (Software Engineering). Both subjects required us to develop a software. For example: Inventory System, Enrollment System, Hotel and Restaurant Billing System and many others. My group had chosen to develop a software for a church organization. The software is Information and Accounting System. My groupmates and I was very confident that we’ll be able to finish the software in no time. We were given so much time to finish it, I think. 5 months to develop a smooth running software..That was the time the professors gave us to finish the system. I was very confident at first because I thought with my past experiences in developing a software / system, I’d be able to finish it alone. Well, I was wrong about that. Over-confident? Maybe. Carelessness? It might be. I overlooked on so many things. First, my groupmates don’t know much about on how to create modules for a system. For example: file manipulation, archiving and many others. According to them, they’re professor taught them mostly on string manipulation, looping statements and others. So they had a hard time digesting all the new information they got on Visual Basic. Another thing was the different approach in coding the forms and modules. Before, I use “adodc”. Now, its “ADODB”. So I had to study on it as well. To make the long story short, I was developing the system and studying it at the same time. I am the lead programmer that’s why I did most of the contributions on the software. My group had to do some researches and download this and that. Waaaah! What a life in IT!
It was very exhausting as I can remember. We had to do overnights to finish the system. That overnight didn’t include sleeping. Too bad. Wasn’t it? We had to study the system while developing it. The girls got the most eyebags among the group. I thought it was really unfair on our part. But who says everything is fair? No one. In every road you take, in every life you chose to live, fair is not there. In my opinion, there is nothing fair in this world. I think my groupmates already know what I meant. Right guys? Hehehe..
After a long and winding road, we were able to finish the system. Although it debbuged more than 10 times during defense day. We were still thankful that the panelists gave us some considerations on it. Hah! I was also exempted on program testing but I had to revise the software since I was the lead programmer. Then the documents came in second. We had to let the respective people involve on the subjects sign the documents including the panelists. Whew! We were relieved when the panelist signed the documents without seeing the revised software. We just got lucky!=p
It was a self-fulfillment for me and that I able to develop a system again but this time it was almost finish. It just need a little revisions. AGAIN! I may say it had been a long and winding road este codes!=p

Thank You 2006! Hello 2007!
Another year is about to end..Haay! We really can’t stop the hands of time. Time ticks too fast. It was just like yesterday..People from all walks of life are asking what would be their life as year 2006 is about to begin? Now, same old stories. People are asking..AGAIN. Will year 2007 be their luck or another life of struggles and sufferings? Haaay.. But despite of it all, people tend to be optimistic rather than worrying what lies ahead. But sometimes we really do,right? We kept on asking what’s next after this..We really don’t know what’s gonna happen next, right? We just gotta have some faith on Him. He’s the only one who knows what’s best for all of us and only time will tell..And yet some people are. They tend to worry what lies ahead. As if they were never satisfied and it’s understandable. There are different kind of people in this world that walks in front of you. You will see the outside but you don’t know what’s inside unless you tried to look beyond it. I think, instead of worrying about it. Why don’t we thank Him for giving us another year to live. Another chance to enjoy life even on it’s simplest form or even it’s grandest. Let’s appreciate life and thank Him for all the blessings that He showered on us for the past 365 days. Now, He gave us another 365 days to live, to love and to enjoy what life still has to offer..It’s like waking up every morning and you feel the rays of sunlight touches your skin and seeing your kids running around the house welcoming you with their wonderful smiles and say, "Good Morning Mom!" and just hugs and kisses you from left to right. Haaay..what a great feeling! Isn’t? Well, Life is beautiful. Let’s enjoy every second of it. You’ll never know. He has already given you the things that you were asking from Him. You just have to look at it in different perspectives..
Whew! What an intro?!?? Ang haba! hehe.. Year 2006 has been very meaningful and memorable to me and I’m really, really thankful for that. That’s why I’m here now writing this blog even if I’m not good in writing. I just want to share all the beautiful and the not-so-beautiful things that happened in my life for the past 365 days. Things that made my life in 2006 worthwhile. Something I’ll always wanted to look back for the rest of my life.
This is the year I’ve made a lot of friends. Friends that I will surely keep for the rest of my life. I just hope they’ll still be around. I was at EK (Enchanted Kingdom) then. They used to say, "The Magic is here!". I think I’m gonna have to agree on that. (Today, they changed it to, "The Magic stays with you" and it stayed with me.) When I was there, magic just happen. Something I’ll always consider a gift from God not from Wizard. I met a very special person there. You have no idea how it all started. But, it was magic. It was a gift. I’ve learned a lot from this special person. She has no idea how she changed me although most of the time napipikon talaga sya saken. Ang kulet kuleeeet ko kasi eh! Well, that was one thing you did change on me. You brought back the real me. Wushuuu! Before I started working there, I was very quiet. I don’t talk when nobody approaches me. I don’t laugh even if the joke was funny. Everything I felt, I just suppressed it. I deprived myself from being happy. I confined myself in a four-cornered room where it stunt my growth emotionally, spiritually and mentally. I didn’t appreciate the outside world. I hated being alive. I isolated myself from other people. My highschool buddies told me the last time we hangged out, I’ve changed a lot. Where is the Jen we used to know back in highschool? That’s what they all said. I didn’t enjoyed life then. Until she came and changed everything. From it’s darker side to it’s brightest. She taught me things I needed to know. She changed me to a better me. Because of you I learned to enjoy life from it’s simplest to it’s grandest. I have a better view now of what life really is. You did widened my horizons. Naks! Kilala mo na kung sino tinutukoy ko?Opo.. Kaw un, tol.Nanny! hehehe.. Thank you for all the things that you’ve done for me. I may not know how to show it to you but you mean a lot to me. I appreciate everything. I’m not around lately. I just don’t know where to start again. My uneasiness towards you strikes again eh. Sorry.. You’re the sister I never had. Despite of your busy scheds, you took time to bond with me.. I may be immature at times. Coward most of the time. But with you around, I can make myself mature and brave enough..hehehe..Grabe!Ang drama!!!Jologs na ba tol? Anyway, thank you for being around. The texting madness we had. The never ending kwentos and tawanan. Nagagawang tumawag para lang tumawa after reading the text msgs. Haaay! Those were the days..Hahaha! Basta.Thank you!Ayabyu!
I never thought that I’d be able to make friends again with people I barely know. But I did. Those friends from EK. My Co-CMs. Thanks for the friendship. I’m looking forward for our next gimik. Hehehe..
I did regret resigning from work. Leaving the work I love.Well, I think it’s God’s way. If I didn’t resigned from work, I won’t be able to go back to school and be a full time student. This is one thing I really miss. Being a student. Now that God opened the door for the opportunity, I can’t let that pass. Opportunity knocks only once. So, I embraced it.
Now, here I am looking forward to graduate next school year and trying my very best to do good in school. Let’s hope for the best! Hmmmn.. I think I need a little inspiration..hehe
